Glued to the left endpage is a personal letter from Edward Bok, the editor and publisher, to his son, William Curtis Bok, who later became a Supreme Court justice for the state of Pennsylvania.

The letter is dated September 20, 1920, but there's an owner's signature - Richardson Bronson - on the facing page dated November 1, 1920. The books was not in the boy's possession for long.

In the letter, Edward Bok says that this book is copy number 4 of a special edition.

Blue cloth cover with staining, fading, and bumped corners. Back cover ripped. Spine damaged. Inside clean and bright. Binding tight. See pictures for more evidence of condition.
